Meet Russell – one of our highly qualified dentists here at Ewan Bramley Dental Care, and our implant placing expert!

Russell started his dental career gaining his degree from Newcastle University, along with the John Hopkins prize for all round performing student. He then passed further arduous exams to gain membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Working predominantly in private dentistry over the last decade at some of the North East’s premiere practices, he developed a keen interest in cosmetic reconstructive and implant dentistry.

To further learn the required skills within these subject areas, he initially partook in courses throughout the UK, including the respected Paul Tipton curriculum in Manchester.

He then decided to continue his studies abroad, including trips into mainland Europe and the East Coast of America, and particularly to the North West state of Washington where, over 3 years, Russell flew back and forth to Seattle’s world renowned Dental Education Centre headed by Dr John Kois.

Russell is one of the first and only UK dentists to complete the full curriculum and successfully present some of his treatment in front of Dr Kois and other esteemed dental professionals. Here Russell learned more advanced skills in dental reconstruction and cosmetic care including the technical planning skills required for dental implants.

Russell’s implant training began formally in Cambridge, UK, where he completed a year long academic schedule.  To gain practical experience, Russell then travelled regularly to Bristol where he was supervised by highly experienced implant surgeons, placing implants and performing bone grafting procedures. Russell however considers the most valued and continued learning is via his personal mentor, Siew Lim in Kings Lynn who has been placing and restoring implants for over 20 years and is considered by many as one of most highly esteemed implant dentists in the UK.
