Let’s have a quick run through of just two of the routine and less complex Dentistry Services we can give you and what they can do for your smile and confidence.

1. White Fillings

Why Should I Consider Them?

Listen, you’re not alone if you have one or more fillings in your mouth. Pretty much everyone in the country has fillings of one sort or another in their mouths. Nowadays fillings can be natural looking, as well as doing the job they’re meant to do.

Many people don’t want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile because they are more conscious about the way they look, and White Fillings are a simple way to keep your teeth and smile looking healthy and natural.

Are They As Good As The Normal Silver Filling?

There’s definitely a popular belief that White Fillings don’t last as long as the typical silver amalgam fillings, but Ewan Bramley Dental Care uses all of the up to date materials to make sure they’re just as solid and long-lasting.

Are There Any Alternatives To White Fillings?

Of course, Ewan Bramley specialises in crowns as well as Veneers, which can be used on front teeth instead of crowns or fillings.

2. Crowns

What Exactly Are Crowns?

A Crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a ‘cap’.

Why Would I Need One?

Crowns are an ideal way to restore teeth that have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling.

How Are Crowns Prepared?

At Ewan Bramley Dental Care, we would prepare the tooth so it is the ideal shape for the crown. This will involve removing most of the outer surface, and leaving a strong inner core. Once the tooth is shaped, the dentist will take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth, one of the other jaw, and possibly another to mark the way you bite together.

How Is The Crown Fitted?

When you’re happy and we’re happy with the fit and appearance of the new crown, it will be fixed in place with special dental cement or adhesive. The cement forms a seal to hold the crown in place.

Does It Hurt?

No, you will have a local anaesthetic and the preparation should feel no different from a filling. If the tooth does not have a nerve, and you are having a post crown, you may not need a local anaesthetic.
